Juventus and Bologna have met 14 times in the Coppa Italia. Saturday’s opponents have only played Inter (20) and Napoli (16) more times in the competition. Of those cup encounters, the Bianconeri have won five of the last six, with the other ending in a draw, scoring 14 goals and averaging 2.3 per game.

The Rossoblu are without a win against Juventus in all competitions since February 2011, losing 11 and drawing three. The last Coppa Italia clash between the two sides came at the last-16 stage in the 2011/12 season, when the Bianconeri won 2-1 in Turin.

Bologna have never won a match on home turf against Juventus in the Coppa Italia, registering four draws and two defeats (either in normal or extra time) and scoring just one goal. Their last home win over Juventus in all competitions dates back to November 1998, when they emerged 3-0 winners in a Serie A encounter.

The Bianconeri have not been beaten on any of their last 17 trips to Bologna in all competitions, recording 12 wins and five draws, as well as 11 clean sheets. The team also has a win percentage of 42% from visits to Bologna in all competitions.

Juventus’ heaviest win over Bologna dates back to May 1975, when they travelled to the Dall’Ara and notched up five goals. Pietro Anastasi bagged a hat-trick, with the scoring completed by a Fernando Viola effort and an own-goal. The goals can be seen in reproductions of Hurrà Juventus from the time.

The last time Juve travelled to Bologna for a Coppa Italia tie was back in 1999. The only goal of the game was scored by Edgar Davids (below), who fired home a thunderous strike, but it was not enough to advance to the next round, with the Bianconeri having lost the first leg 2-1 at the Delle Alpi.
